Airports

The closest airport is Turin Airport (TRN), followed by Milan Malpensa (MXP), Milan Linate (LIN), and Milan Bergamo (BGY).

Arriving at Turin Airport (TRN)

If you land in Turin, you can reach the city center by:

  • Train: The Trenitalia railway service connects the airport (“Turin Aeroporto di Caselle” station) to Porta Susa station in about 30 minutes. There is one train approximately every 20 minutes. Check Trenitalia website for time-table and to buy a ticket (3.70€). The airport station is located opposite the Arrivals area of the terminal.
  • Bus: The Arriva and Flibco bus runs regularly from Turin airport (bus station just outside the Arrivals exit, on the right) to Porta Nuova and Turin Porta Susa station. You can buy the tickets on the site or directly on the bus, paying by card.
  • Taxi: Available outside the Arrivals exit, on the left, with a fixed fare to the city center (approximately 40€). See www.taxiTurin.it.

Arriving at Milan Airports (MXP, LIN, BGY)

If you land in Milan Malpensa, Linate, or Bergamo, you can reach Turin directly by bus with:

  • Flixbus or AirportBusExpress which operate frequent services to Turin. Tickets can be purchased online or at airport vending machines.

Train Stations in Turin

All these stations are well-connected by public transportation, such as buses, trams, and the underground. Please note that train to Bardonecchia only stop in Turin Porta Nuova. It will approximately take 1.30h to connect Turin and Bardonecchia. During the week there is one train every hour connecting Turin Porta Nuova to Bardonecchia.

  • Turin PN to Bardonecchia: First train is at 05.15 a.m.. Last train is at 22.15 p.m.
  • Bardonecchia to Turin PN: First train is at 05.20 a.m. Last train is at 22.20 p.m.

Bus/Tram/Underground in Turin:

How to Buy Tickets to travel around Turin:

Train Tickets

You can buy tickets for trains at the station’s ticket machines or online at Trenitalia.

Public Transport Tickets (Buses, Trams, Underground)

  • Tabaccherie: These are tobacco shops clearly marked with a “T” symbol.
  • App: Some transport apps allow you to purchase tickets digitally. See GTT app.
  • Onboard Payment: Some buses or trams may allow direct card payments, but not all vehicles support this feature. We recommend two main options: 90-Minute Ticket: This allows unlimited travel on all buses and trams for 90 minutes, plus 1 underground ride. **Daily Ticket: You can travel on all public transport vehicles (buses, trams, and underground) until 23:59 of the same day. Pay attention to validate your ticket as soon as you enter the vehicle.

We strongly recommend all participants to book a room at the moment of the registration in one of the two selected hotels, as there is low availability in May in Bardonecchia. The suggested hotels are

The suggested hotels offer both single rooms (€108 per night, including breakfast) and double rooms (€160 per night, including breakfast). You can choose your preferred option in the registration page. Cancellation policy: Guests can cancel their reservation free of charge up to 7 days before the arrival date. After this deadline, a penalty equal to the cost of one night will be charged.

Conference Venue

Palazzo delle Feste (Piazza Valle Stretta, 1, 10052 Bardonecchia TO) You reach the conference venue from the train station in around 17/20 minutes by walk.

Social dinner

The social dinner will be on Thursday 29th. It is included in the registration fee and it will take place on Harald’s Ski Restaurant Bar (less than 5 minutes by walk from the suggested hotels).

Top
